The St Agnes Hotel

Churchtown, Saint Agnes TR5 0QP, UK – 01872 552307

The hake and crab risotto is precisely cooked- crispy skin, succulent meat. Great combination of crab risotto, hake and samphire. Well worth a visit for the food alone. It’s the Champions League final today and bank holiday Saturday of the May half term- the pub is packed... despite this, the food was excellent, served within a very reasonable time frame and above all things: the waiting/bar staff are lovely, polite and unflappable.

A nice hotel but not a very big menu. Food ok but I've had better. Good parking and on a warm evening there is a nice decked area out the back. Dogs welcome as are children.

Driftwood Spars

Two comfortable nights at St. George's Country House Hotel. Very clean and quite. Filling breakfast cooked by Brad. Nothing to much trouble. Was still waiting up for us after we attending a wedding. Old School Bar & Kitchen

Rodda's Rd, Mount Hawke, Truro TR4 8BA, UK – 01209 891609

What a fantastic chef! Everyone must go and meet Dan, his food is outstanding! I had a steak, provided by Etheringtons butchers. The fresh fish of the day was turbot, amazing look at the pics. Cooked by Dan it was the best one ever!! Menu is beautiful, bar staff are so friendly.

Second visit during the day and allot better we just had a small lunch this time. The food and local beer very good. However on the Sunday evening service was very very slow and took 45 mins for starters to arrive. Front of house very welcoming, but probably need to sort communication out between them and the back as many tables suffered the same issues that evening. Hopefully it was just one of those nights when it went wrong for the majority. I would try them again for an evening service.

The Miners Arms

Mithian, Saint Agnes TR5 0QF, UK – 01872 552375

Arrived without booking, but this wasn't a problem. They explained as long as we were done before 7 they could accommodate us. Food was fabulous as were the staff. Only down side was we ate three course meal in just over an hour. Nice to overhear other diners bringing their friends and foamy and recommending dishes to try. Next visit we will ensure we book first.

Great village pub, they are dog-friendly (offering dog treats at the bar) and have a beer garden plus an additional outdoor seating area. The staff are friendly and provide good service. The food is awesome and won't leave you hungry with a large choice including vegan, low dairy and low gluten menus and a special Sunday menu.

The Tap House

Peterville Square, St. Agnes,, St Agnes, Cornwall TR5 0QU, UK – 01872 553095

Staying about 10 miles away I scoured Google Maps for somewhere to try. Landed on this little beauty. Beer was good, food was excellent, desserts were amazing. Every plate that came out everyone had food envy. Well worth the trip.

Easily one of the best placed to eat in St. Agnes! Cornwall!? The World??? Definitely Cornwall. Very friendly, children are welcome, shot glasses of jelly beans on the tables, great atmosphere. There is always a great feeling and they show great documentaries in the background. the menu is great, portions are quiet large. Try the baby squid... it is the best

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Pure Cornwall Holiday cottages

Trevissome House, Trevissome Park, Blackwater, Truro TR4 8UN, UK – 01872 561642

It was our first time using Pure Cornwall, and they were absolutely amazing! We have already booked our next holiday at the end of the year! The property was clean and fully equipped with everything we needed... and more! We called Pure Cornwall for advice on where to stay, and right through from the booking process to during our stay they were always on hand to help with any queries we had - 5 stars from me!!! Thank you Pure Cornwall and see you at Christmas :)

Had a lovely week in Bluebell Cottage on the Gonwin Manor Estate. Lovely complex, all very nicely set up. The people were lovely, the cottages amenities and furnishings were excellent, all you need and to an high standard. A great base and was nice to be a little way out of the main centre, and everything was only a drive or bus away. We highly recommend this place.

Trenerry Farm Cottages

Mingoose Farmhouse, St Agnes, Truro TR4 8BU, UK – 01872 553755

We stayed at meadow cottage which is a detached property. A lovely welcome pack and the cottage has everything you need. Dishwasher, washer, dryer and large garden and patio. Comfortable beds and the whole place was clean and aired. We are booking again.

I had a lovely stay here, perfect little cottage, very clean and tidy. Lovely owners and lovely grounds. Would definitely recommend.

Rosevean Cottage

33 Rosemundy, Saint Agnes TR5 0UD, UK – 0116 288 1673

Fantastic cottage in a perfect location. We took our young family away for a weeks break during October half term (2015). The cottage is lovely inside, with good quality finishing touches applied throughout. The closed in garden and driveway were perfect for the kids to have some space outside. The property is located very close to 3 pubs/restaurants and is a beautiful short walk from the beach. St Agnes its self is brilliantly located for Cornwall attractions - We visited the Eden Project, The Gardens of Helligan and Newquay (Zoo) and they were all only a short drive away. All in all a fantastic break and a great cottage. Well Done!

We run an Airbnb bed and breakfast down in Devon (house below) - and we have stayed in Airbnb accommodation all over the place. You can find the wonderful little gems with totally committed hosts and really frightful places which you put down to experience! You absolutely have to read the details of each listing - and read the reviews! We have had people coming to East Quither Farm expecting to take over our whole house -  or our kitchen etc simply because they have not read the description. Basically use Airbnb wherever we go - but we do do our homework!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Penwinnick Road, Saint Agnes TR5 0PA, UK – 01872 552262

This is a lovely old house wrapped in ivy, it is spacious inside with lots of paintings. The owner is very friendly. Huge garden for sitting or sports and guests are able to play badminton, football etc. Nice large rooms and beautiful windows all around. The location is ideal for driving into the town. It is cosy and quaint and the perfect place to stay in St. Agnes.

This was booked by my husband for a surprise for my 50th Birthday. Drive into car park to see a lovely big garden where there was plenty of seats and a place for the children to play. The house was very large with ivy over it which looked really old and lovely. Walked into a dimly lit reception area and was greated by a very friendly man who showed us where to have breakfast and the two bathrooms near our room. The room was very large and accommodated with a double comfy bed, two singles and a bit as well as some antique furniture. There were family portraits and nicnacks of the family's collections which show how trusting they are. I was abit sceptical at first but through my enjoyed my stay and even asked if we could stay an extra night. Defiantly will stay again

West Polberro, Saint Agnes TR5 0SS, UK – 01872 552044

After our tent collapsed during bad weather in the local campsite, our holiday was saved by finding accommodation at Kimberley B&B. Neil and Sue were extremely warm, welcoming and helpful; and the rooms were comfortable, inviting and well-maintained. What sets this B&B apart from others is just a level of care and kindness. Thanks again :)

We really enjoyed our weeklong stay in Kimberley B&B. The home is beautifully set up for guests. It is impeccably clean, the guest rooms are well furnished and comfortable, the sun room and garden are inviting, and the breakfasts, made to order, were delicious. The B&B is an easy walk into town, to the beach, and an even shorter walk to the Coastal Path. But most of all, Sue and Neil were such gracious hosts, and repeatedly went out of their way to make us feel at home. We feel lucky to have had the chance to stay with them.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Campsites and Caravan Parks

Beacon Cottage Farm Holidays

Beacon Dr, Saint Agnes TR5 0NU, UK – 01872 552347

Beautiful campsite on the side of St. Agnes Beacon, just a two minute walk from Wheal Coates tin mine and beyond to Chapel Porth beach. a really quiet friendly campsite with good facilities and nothing close by... about a 20 minute walk to St. Agnes. Vans come throughout the week selling coffee, pizza, fish and chips & butcher.

Lovely little campsite in stunning location, grab a few things, from the Spar shop in town on the way in, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Wonderful views and walks especially from the campsite to Chapel Porth Beach.

Deep Meadows Camping & Caravan Site

Deep Meadows, Saint Agnes TR5 0XX, UK – 01872 552236

Dave and his son do everything they can to make you feel welcome. The campsite has all the basics and is a great place to stay for holidays when you have lots of days out planned

I have been coming here for over 20 yrs its the most friendly and clean family run campsite couldn't wish for a better site. No noise or light pollution just great to sit out and look at the star's on a evening.

St Agnes Beacon Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Beacon Dr, Saint Agnes TR5 0NU, UK – 01872 552543

It's our 3th visit here. Very peaceful place with breath taking views. Perfect for walkers with or without dogs, also for cycling. The caravan park is kept very well maintain, very clean. 35 min walk to the village St. Agnes (dog friendly beach). The only thing is, there is nothing to entertain the children in the caravan park but...that is why is sooo peaceful. We still found ourselves busy with our 6 years old boy walking and cycling and swimming of course. Definitely coming back here next year. And one more thing important to VEGANS: there's a vegan bakery in St.Agnes called The Little Green Vegan Bakery. Delicious pastries and cakes!

A well run, well maintained campsite only a stone's throw away from the sea. It offers spectacular views of the coastline and of st. Ives and nearby Redruth. There are a handful of coastal paths that continue for miles in either direction starting from wheal coates, a 5 minute walk from the campsite and the village of St. Agnes is a 5 minute drive by car.
